Virtual Toronto Science Fair Schedule

April 2 - 7, 2022

Saturday, April 2

  • 10:00 AM - Opening Ceremony and Guest Speaker: Professor Ruby Sullan, Chemistry Department, UTSC.

  • Virtual judging begins: A distinguished panel of judges will be examining all of the projects virtually over the weekend of April 2 and 3.

  • 1:00 PM – Scavenger Hunt Starts: Exhibitors will receive an email inviting them to participate in the TSF Scavenger Hunt. Clues will be found among the projects.

Sunday, April 3

  • Virtual Judging continues.

  • 1:00 PM – Scavenger Hunt Deadline: There will be Prizes!

  • 7:00 PM – Exhibitor Zoom Meeting: Fair Information and Announcement of Scavenger Hunt Winners

Monday, April 4

  • 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM – The Exhibitors Speak: Each exhibitor will receive a Zoom Link from a TSF committee member inviting them to attend a small group Zoom meeting at either 6:30 PM or 8:00 PM to share their project with their peers.

Tuesday, April 5

  • The TSF Kahoot Science Trivia Contest: Exhibitors will be sent a link to a Science Trivia Contest for their category.

    • 6:00 PM – Junior Category – Grade 7/8

    • 7:15 PM – Intermediate Category – Grade 9/10

    • 8:30 PM – Senior Category – Grade 11/12

Wednesday, April 6

  • 7:00 PM – Zoom Discussion Group: Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Society: Exhibitors are invited to view a video on Artificial Intelligence and join in a discussion afterwards.

Thursday, April 7

  • 7:00 PM – Virtual Awards Ceremony: Join us to celebrate the achievements of our young scientists. Follow the link on the TSF website.

April 2-7 – General Activities for TSF Exhibitors

  • Video presentations and demonstrations on a variety of science and technology topics. Exhibitors can access these at whatever times are convenient for them

  • Daily Newsletter delivered to Exhibitors’ inboxes to keep everyone up-to-date on what is happening.

  • Daily Jamboard activity so that Exhibitors can reflect on their science fair experience.

  • Science Showcase: View one-minute science videos submitted by K-6 students.

Virtual Canada-Wide Science Fair

May 16 - May 20

Virtual Canada-Wide Science Fair. These finalists will be chosen from among the gold medal winners at the Toronto Science Fair.
