Toronto Science Fair Schedule
TSF 2024 Schedule - Sunday March 24, 2024
9:00 - 10:00 AM
Grade 7-12 students register and set- up their display boards in the Event Centre in Highland Hall. Entrance is down a ramp on the southwest side of the building.
9:00 - 10:00 AM
i) Judges arrive and sign-in.
ii) Judges’ Briefing at 9:30
10:00 - 10:30 AM
Student Briefing (Grade 7-12) in ARC - Room 223
10:30 - 12:30 PM
Grade 7-12 Students are divided into groups A and B
Group A: Grade 9-12 -Judging - in Event Centre in Highland Hall
Group B: Grade 7-8 Science Workshop - In UTSC or Centennial labs. Students meet escorts at the end of briefing. The escorts will lead them to and from their sessions.
12:30 - 1:30 PM
i) Lunch for Judges and Grades 7-12 Students may buy their lunches in the cafeteria or bring their own.
ii) Grade 5-6 students register and set-up - in Highland Hall. Entrance is down a ramp on the southwest side of the building.
Note: Grade 5 / 6 exhibitors should eat their lunch before they come.
1:30 - 3:30 PM
i) Grade 7-12 students are divided into groups A and B
Group B: Grade 7-8 Judging in Event Centre in Highland Hall
Group A: Grade 9-12- Science Workshop - In UTSC or Centennial labs- Students go to the ARC at 1:30 to meet their escorts who will lead them to and from their session.
ii) Grade 5-6 student activities - Sharing session and Hands-On Science Workshop.
All Gr. 5-6 activities take place in Highland Hall. Students will be divided into small groups called pods and will be closely supervised by committee members and student teacher pod leaders.
3:30 - 4:00 PM
Grade 5-6 students will view Grade 7-12 projects supervised by their pod leaders.
4:00 - 4:30 PM
Grade 5-6 students pack up and go home. Parents may enter the exhibit hall to pick up their children.
3:30 - 4:30 PM
Grade 7-12 students will view each other's projects. Because of space restrictions, the committee has reluctantly decided that visitors can not be invited to view the fair. There will be no Open House. An official photographer will be taking pictures throughout the fair and these will be posted on the TSF website.
4:30 - 5:30 PM
Grade 7-12 students listen to guest speaker:
Atoms to Applications – The Infinite Possibilities of Chemistry
Christopher Caputo , Associate Professor and Tier II Canada Research Chair, York University.
This talk will take place in the ARC.
5:30 - 7:00 PM
Awards Ceremony - In the ARC - Room 223 This lecture hall is only large enough to seat the Exhibitors. The program will be filmed and streamed into Room AA112 and parents are invited to come early to pick up their children and view the Awards Ceremony from this room. The Awards Ceremony will also be taped and posted on the TSF website..

Team Toronto - Initial Canada Wide Science Fair Meeting
This meeting is for the 10 Gold Medal Winners who will be chosen to represent Toronto at the CWSF in Ottawa, Ontario, May 25 - June 1, 2024.
Canada-Wide Science Fair
The Canada Wide Science Fair will be held in Ottawa this year from May 25 to June 1, 2024. Ten finalists from among the Gold Medal winners at TSF 2024 will be selected to be the Toronto Finalists at CWSF. These students will have an all-expenses paid trip to Ottawa to showcase their project on a national stage. In preparation for this, finalists will need to prepare both a virtual Project Board version of their project as well as a poster version. In Ottawa, finalists and their chaperones will be staying a Carleton University and taking part in judging, social events, visits from local schools, and touring Ottawa.
