Who can participate?

The Science Showcase is open to Kindergarten, Primary and Junior Classes (K-4) in schools within Toronto. (School postal code starting with M.)  Homeschooled students resident in Toronto are also eligible. 

The entries can be the work of a whole class or of smaller groups within a class.  Each class may submit a maximum of two videos.  Each school may submit a maximum of 10 videos.

What should the video include?

The video should be a record of what the class or group did to investigate a specific science question and what they concluded from their investigations.  The video could begin with a statement of the question to be investigated, followed by a description of the experiments or activities conducted.  Data gathered and conclusions drawn should be outlined.

Students are encouraged to be creative in their video design.  There is no one right way to do this.

Due to privacy issues, teachers are encouraged to devise videos so that no picture of a student appears. If the image of any student does appear in a video, the registration form must be accompanied by a permission form or letter signed by the child’s parents.

How long should the video be?

Each video shall be a maximum one minute in length.

How do you register?

Registration for the Science Showcase will open January 13, 2025Teachers must register their classes by March 5, 2025.  They should upload the video to google drive and share the link with torontosciencefair@gmail.com between February 18, 2025 to Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
